Our fees are usually based on time spent. This means that it is easy for clients, if so desired, to get up-to-date information about their legal costs. In addition to time spent, the nature of the project and our potential liability will be factors in determining our fee.
But we are always happy to discuss alternative fee arrangements.
As a general rule, fees will be invoiced on a monthly basis and when the project is completed. Litigation work will typically be invoiced on a quarterly basis. Payment is due 15 days after the invoice date. Interest will be charged on late payment in accordance with the Danish Interest Act. We would generally like to have disbursements – eg court fees – paid when incurred.
In some cases, we may ask for a retainer.
Norrbom Vinding does not use contractual clauses about choice of law and/or jurisdiction.
At Norrbom Vinding, confidentiality is paramount. All of our staff have signed an undertaking not to disclose inside information and an undertaking not to disclose any information obtained from or about our clients. And all materials, in whatever form received, will be treated and kept in confidence.
We also have safe procedures in place to identify any conflicts of interest and independence issues. This means that we will not accept a client or a project if there is even the slightest risk of a conflict.
Like other Danish law firms, Norrbom Vinding must comply with the Danish Money Laundering Act. As a result, we will obtain and keep information about clients’ identity and we have implemented an internal set of rules to ensure compliance.
All of our lawyers who are admitted to practise law in Denmark are licensed by the Danish Ministry of Justice and members of the Danish Bar and Law Society. Learn more about the provisions of the Danish Administration of Justice Act on lawyers, the Code of Conduct of the Danish Bar and Law Society and the client account regulations (the latter available in Danish only) at the Danish Bar and Law Society's website .
